GCAi Cycling
Digital PR and Marketing is what we do everyday.
Cycling for John Garvey is want he wants to do – everyday. John’s been riding since he delivered newspapers on his Columbia Stingray. An amazing amount of bicycles followed that epic cruiser.
Like the proverbial postman and no matter what the weather, John is riding trails in Western Mass, on Cape Cod and, quite frequently, at the Kingdom Trails in Burke, VT. He also is an avid gravel cyclist (fav: Green River Road, Greenfield, MA to Guilford, VT). Although he spends less time on his road bikes these days, he is easy to find as he will be the guy dressed more like a gravel grinder than a hard paver.
The GCAi prez has “competed” in a few of New England’s classics including:
- Rasputitsa: “In the beginning of the season there was Rasputitsa. It was in April and it was brutal. The gravel grinder self-describes as a “psychotic 40-mile, insane, drop-to-your-knees-and-cry sufferfest with an absurd section so difficult that people won’t believe your stories, called Cyberia.” – vtsports.com
- D2R2 Deerfield Dirt Road Randonnée) “Scenery equaled only by ride’s challenge” – Greenfield recorder
- Ride To Remember (Springfield to Boston).
John has rounded the Quabbin Reservoir numerous times and competed a one day ride from Springfield, MA to Westmore, VT (think Lake Willoughby) two times (200 miles).
GCAi is a sponsor of the Memphremagogg Trails and a former sponsor of the Kingdom Trails and the Northampton Cycling Club.
